be prepared if you are looking for work. A guy once called me back & asked why he didn’t get the job. I told him that I didn’t think he would be ready to work everyday when he showed up. He asked why. I asked him did he “expect” to fill out a paper job app when he came in and he said “yes” I said what do you need to complete that ? An ink pen, your work history written on paper, personal reference contact info. It amazes me how many people would not even know their own telephone number.

How about come in …
How about come in with a smile, and bring an ink pen. I can believe all the people who over my 15+ years of hiring people come in to fill out a job application & the first thing is they don’t bring in an ink pen. Prospective employees will show up & ask “Are you hiring” The better ? is are you taking applications or in my career field accepting resume’s? To many times I have said Yes we are taking apps & they ask for an ink pen or Phone book to look up info on their prior employers. You should>
